Trenton and Rahway State Prisons
OFPLM has been working hard to re-establish relationships in both Trenton and Rahway State Prisons. For many years, by God’s grace, we have run a wonderful visitation ministry in both of these facilities. We continue to work hard to get this ministry back up and running once again. Covid restrictions have curtail it much.
This part of prison ministry is not evangelistic. All the men that we visit have solid relationships with the Lord. We are just coming along side and encouraging them in their walks, as some are serving lengthy sentences. It’s our desire for the men to have a community of believers they can come home to and fellowship with once released. “When I was in prison you visited me…..” Matthew 25:36
Our Impact
Our Goal
Visiting brothers in Christ and building solid Christ-centered
relationships thru the sharing of testimony and encouraging them with God’s Word.
Action
The Brothers are encouraged to stand firm in their faith while serving
their time and to see the prison system as a missionary field.
Outcome
Encourages them to have a deeper and more fruitful relationship with
Christ with the goal of leaving prison one day and returning to their
families and friends as changed men.
Volunteer’s Testimonial
For 20 years I co-taught the Christian Discipleship class Bible study that Bro. Philip organized in NJ State Prison in 1997. What a great blessing it has been to minister with a “master discipler” in discipling new believers, many if whom he led to the Lord
