Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women
Clinton is the only women’s prison in NJ. We are finding out that when “Our Girls” leave the county jail after sentencing, we want to remain in contact with them and be a support for when they are ready to go home.
If you are interested in encouraging a woman behind bars through either correspondence, visiting, or driving a
family member to visit their loved one, contact us through our website. The visit times vary and some are in the evenings. Many of these women have children and their hearts are breaking for their kids. We believe this part of the ministry is all about “encouraging and mentoring”.
Our Impact

Our Goal
Discipling women in Christ and comforting them with the Word
of God through personal visits.

Action
Carving out time in your schedule to visit a sister in Christ in prison.
Connecting initially through letters, and then if the opportunity
presents itself, setting up a time to meet her. Prison visit times vary
due to the inmates status and housing units.

Outcome
Helping encourage a sister in the Lord to do her time well and be prepared and ready when the time comes for her to be released to her family and children.
Volunteer’s Testimonial
Serving in prison ministry was a true blessing for 15 years; you think you will bless inmates but you get the blessing: teaching bible study, visiting inmates or delivering gifts to inmates’ children through Angel Tree. Taking turns with other servants teaching a bible study, mainly in Middlesex County jail; from several women up to 40 in attendance! Lastly, years ago I regularly visited inmates (Phillip Reardon included), in Trenton & Rahway State Prisons as well as visitation of one woman in the women’s state prison in Annandale NJ.
