OFPLM PRAYER LIST REQUESTS

Would You Pray With Us?

“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison…”
— Hebrews 13:3

Behind prison walls are hearts that long for hope, healing, and connection with God.

This page is a special space where we share prayer requests from our inmates reaching out for encouragement, peace, strength, and forgiveness.

We invite you to:

  • Remember them in your prayers
  • Share our requests with your church or small group
  • Or write an encouraging note in response

Every prayer you offer brings light of Christ into dark places.

Prison and County Jail Prayer Requests:

  • 1. Hudson County Jail:

Please pray for the salvation and discipleship of the men and women in Hudson County jail. Pray that Philip and Debbie would speak forth the Word with Boldness, Power, and in Spirit and Truth. Philip ministers each week Monday, Wednesday, and Friday – 7:00a.m. to 2:00pm. (This includes travel time). Debbie shares with the ladies on Saturdays in three different cell blocks from 10:30am – 1:30pm. Pray for their safety on the road to and fro. The traffic can be brutal on the NJ Turnpike.

  • Here are some of the names of the Christian Brothers Philip is currently ministering to in the Hudson County Jail:

Here are some of the names of the Christian Brothers Philip is currently ministering to in the Hudson County Jail: Cheyenne, Tevaughn, Rodney, Leu, Jorge, Milo, Carlos, Raul, Tommy- gun, Shawn, 2 Gabriels, and many many others… including officers too.

  • 2. Jamesburg Juvenile Facility:

Philip and Debbie are in the final stages of getting volunteer approval in Jamesburg and will be going in really soon. They have been waiting since January when they took the orientation class. This is a youth facility. Pray that they adjust to it and find their place there. Pray that the Lord uses them much as it is a unique ministry to the young men.

  • 3. Rahway State Prison:

OFPLM is finally able to re-start the long waited “Visitation Ministry” to the men in prison after many years of covid restrictions. (NJ has been slow) We are getting accountability letters signed and volunteers ready. Please pray that this process goes smoothly. It’s a huge encouragement to the men serving long sentences. This is for volunteers who have a heart to minister to those believers behind bars in a visiting hall. We will be enlisting people from various churches. This ministry fulfills the heart of Jesus when He said, “I was in prison and you visited me”. (Matt 25:36)

  • Here are names of some of the men in our NJ State facilities and other prisons we work with:

They are all believers and please pray for their strength, fruitfulness and growth…. It is brutal in there… Philip knows them all personally and has served with them.

  • Mustafa, Bryan, Victor, Scotty, Roche, Nelson, Chance, Sammy, Kenny, George, Henry, James, Jason, Jermaine, Ron, John, Keon, Aunt, Chris, Curtis, Damian, Big D, Marco, Darrell, David B, Dwayne, Ernest, Liam, Marcus, Omar, Peter, Raul, Richard, Eric and Willie.

  • 4. Additional County jail facilities: Please

Please pray that the Lord would once again re-open the following County facilities: Monmouth County, Middlesex, County, and Ocean County.

  • 5. Biblical Counseling:

Pray for Philip and Debbie’s counseling load. Their plates always seem full in this area. They can have sometimes up to five or six different people during the course of a week. They do personal one-on-one counseling, in addition to spending many hours on the phone, emailing and texting people who are in crisis situations. They are also trying to assist in planting a biblical counseling ministry in their home church. This would help take some of the load off of them. They need a lot of wisdom for starting this vision.

  • 6. Pre-marital counseling:

Philip and Debbie will be doing premarital counseling for the next 8 weeks with a young couple that used to go to their church. They’re getting married the middle of September and have asked Philip to perform the ceremony. Pray that their time doing their premarital counseling is effective. They will meet with them weekly and give them homework.

  • 7. Bible study home group:

Philip and Debbie have a home group that meets on Friday nights. They are taking July and August off for a summer rest break. Pray that this will be a refreshing time for everybody. Philip is teaching thru the book of Hebrews. It is a tight knit group and anybody is welcome to join us. They meet in Manasquan. We will be getting back together after Labor Day

  • 8. Inmate Children Gift Giving Christmas project:

We will be accepting prison inmate requests for Christmas gifts for inmate children starting in August. Pray that the Lord would use this project as an avenue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and that the children would be blessed.

  • 9. Personal:

Please pray for Philip and Debbie that they would carve time away from ministry to nurture their marriage, which by the way is very sweet. That they would take breaks in order not to find themselves burned out. Also pray that the devil finds no place in them or in the prison ministry. Pray for Philip’s wisdom in the scripture as he teaches and that his memory would be sharp. He shares regularly at different churches, men’s groups, and all types of situations. Pray that he stays full of the Spirit as he preaches and teaches the Word.

  • Please pray for Debbie that she would learn to manage her time wisely as a wife and homemaker in this new season of married life.

Volunteer’s Testimonial

While I have served OFPLM in various ways over the years, it’s only because this ministry first served me. Debbie introduced me to Jesus at a very dark time in my life and then poured into me for years. I’ll be forever grateful!!

Susan
