“AN OUTSIDE PERSPECTIVE”
My Dear Family in Christ,
Ever precious greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is my great honor and privilege to share my heart with you once again. I have never seen so much hoop-la as I did concerning the recent solar eclipse! It was broadcast on every station everywhere. I was quite amazed, even flabbergasted, on that day as I heard an unbeliever railing on about how global warming had caused the eclipse! I was quietly reminded by the Spirit not to laugh, but to pray, because the man without the Spirit cannot understand the things that come from the Spirit of God because they are foolishness to him; indeed, they cannot understand them even if they wanted to!
No doubt, any eclipse is an amazing event. Truly, it is an astronomical occasion of epic proportions. Albeit, it did not come about by chance as evolutionists would chime. It transpired “decently and in order” just as the Lord had designed it. It is a unique moment, as we know, when the moon is precisely aligned in front of the sun so its light cannot be seen, still shining in all of its brilliance, yet eclipsed by the moon.
It is written, “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let there be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: and let there be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also. And God set there in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good”. (Gen. 1:14-18)
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1) He is the Sovereign over all of His glorious creation. Outside of time, with time subservient to Him, He rules. It has been said that if there was no time, everything would happen all at once! Time is precise because God is. Time is His servant, ushering to pass, while proving Truth – all the prophecies of His Word concerning all His good purpose in Jesus Christ our Lord.
It is written, “…I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient tires the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure… yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have proposed it, I will also do it.” (Isaiah 46:9-11)
Is there a softer pillow than Truth upon which to rest our heads of faith? I think not. God in Himself is our rest. Three eternal words: “It is finished” (Jn. 19:30), forever sing redemption’s song down the aisles of time and of into eternity! Wonderfully, the movements of the stars and planets, determining the seasons, days, and years by their precision, quietly, even faithfully, declare the glory of God. Indeed, the heavens declare the glory of God! Christ Himself the glory of God made flesh, the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over every creature. “By Him, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible …and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.” (Col. 1:16, 17) He alone upholds all things by the Word of His power! Yes, there could be no predictions with such astounding accuracy concerning the time of the eclipse, the rising of the sun, or the fullness of the moon were it not for His providential precision in time.
So it was in the sending of the Lord Jesus Christ. We know that Jesus Christ came according to the scriptures. In the volume of the Book, it is written of Him. The Son was outside of time, yet in the fullness of time, (meaning God’s precise moment in time) He incarcerated Himself in flesh to do His earthly work of setting the captives free! Yes, before time was, He willingly stepped out of eternity into time, and into flesh, that He might fulfill all righteousness (Mt. 3:15; Rev. 13:8b; Heb. 4:3b). Ponder the depth of that thought. . .
Time is marching as a great and mighty army unto its consummation, fulfilling every jot and tittle of the Lord’s good will with gracious purpose. Time shall not be thwarted, for the Father has ordained an end. Evil shall not be. It shall be gloriously swallowed up in totality by Life. Darkness will not be. So in creation – so in our hearts. Sin will be no more! But gloriously, as He is – so shall we be.
It is written, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waited for the manifestation of the sons of God. …Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaned and travailed in pain together until now.” (Rom. 8:19, 21-22)
The Lord, by His Spirit, has translated us out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of Light. One fine day, the last person will receive their Christ. Then, all of creation will move swiftly toward its consummation. So it is written, so it will be done. Let us pray there would be as much hoop-la today about the true Eclipse. The eternal blocking out of our sin by the eternal Son of God! He eclipsed our sin forever by His bloody work upon the cross! The justice of God forever satiated, even propitiated by the precious Blood as of the Lamb who was without spot or blemish! Hide this thought forever in your heart, and you will know the fullness of freedom – “God is forever satisfied by the blood of Jesus Christ on your
behalf!” Yes, our sin was imputed to Him and His righteousness to us. Is there a softer pillow upon which to rest our heads of faith upon? I think not. Let us, therefore, broadcast the gospel of the eternal Eclipser, who became sin for us, that in Him, we might have as a gift – the very righteousness of God!
Beloved, the cross was an amazing event of astronomical proportions. Its ramifications are eternal. It did not come about by chance as evolutionists would chime, but was brought to pass decently, and in order, thus fulfilling all that God purposed in Christ. Just think, if our Lord had been crucified in our day and age, the world would have been quite amazed, even flabbergasted! No doubt, though – someone would have proclaimed that global warming put Christ upon the cross. . .
